The CIPA

REPRESENTATIVE BODY AND SPEAKING VOICE OF THE PLASTICULTURE’S WORLD

Plasticulture community is historically involved in the sustainable eco-agriculture and provide since 5 decades efficient solutions for farmers and growers to produce more, better and cleaner.

The International Committee for Plastics in Agriculture, bring together the worldwide plasticulture community (farmers& growers, industry, distributors and researchers) to share and diffuse innovations, practices and experiences on plasticulture.

A IS INVOLVED IN DIFFERENT ACTIONS:

  • Technical committee for biodegradable plastics, to promote biodegradability by communication, Information & education, support innovation and bring expertise.
  • Statistics: to develop a worldwide reliable statistics tool.
  • The support provided to countries establishing national collecting schemes.
  • Disseminate innovations within the plasticulture community.
  • The “Declaration of the global plastics associations for solutions on marine litter”, an international action to support any initiatives which could decrease the volume of plastic waste in the oceans.
  • Presence and lecture in international events

CIPA, entitled to provide advices and expertise worldwide, is the speaking voice and the link within the plasticulture community.
CIPA is an exchange platform between research centres, industry, distributors and final users.

MISSIONS & OBJECTIVES

Non-profit international organization, CIPA act in the interest of all plasticulture community in order to promote the responsible use of plastic in agriculture.

  • International exchange platform between national committees
  • provide information to world plastic community on research and studies relating to the use of plastic materials in agriculture
  • support, in the widest economic sense, solutions to scientific and technical problems in the field of plastics in agriculture, through total international harmonisation
  • promote experimentation of plastics in agriculture and standardisations works, encouraging thus the creation of quality standards, subjected to CIPA assessment, in order to achieve international standards
  • study and analyse any relevant questions related to plastics in agriculture and the environment

CIPA
PHILOSOPHY

Plasticulture will play a continuous increasing role in the growing demand of the population feeding.

Plasticulture improves production in quantity and quality, using less pesticides, fertilizers, waters, etc. Since the beginning, the plasticulture community is involved in the environment protection, reducing the negative impact of the agricultural production: how to produce more with less! Once collected, plastics wastes from agriculture are recycled.

Plasticulture has a tremendous contribution to the Intensive Ecological Agriculture and the Circular Eco- nomy.

A CONTRIBUTION
TO THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY

The professionals of the plasticulture are highly aware of their responsibilities in the efficient management of the agricultural plastics used. In this prospect, waste management already takes a very important place in the CIPA’s action for environmental protection.

Plastics are made of very high quality, harmless and easy to recycle polymers. It would be particularly damaging for our economies to waste them while raw materials have to be more and more saved and well handled.

No agricultural used plastics must be burned or landfilled!

No agricultural used plastics must be founded in the oceans!
